Sex Toy Review: California Exotic Novelties Lia Pleaser 1

Before I used the Lia ® Pleasers™ Pleaser 1, I was intrigued by the vibration options. It offers 10 different settings/pulses. It’s also waterproof and made from silicone, which are two big pluses in my book.
When I first turned on the toy it was loud. Really loud. The noise is a definite drawback of the Lia Pleaser 1.
I am the type of person who prefers vibration on my clitoris and outer labia. Rarely do I enjoy insertable vibration. Although many vibrating dildos are intended to be used internally, I usually find more success rubbing them on my clitoris. When I tried to stimulate my clit with the Lia 1, it didn’t cut it at all. The vibration is rather weak even on higher settings. Lia 1 does offer some interesting vibration patterns I likely would have enjoyed had they been a bit stronger.
After inserting the toy, the vibrations were annoying rather than pleasurable so I turned the toy off completely. This is when a bit of magic happened. After a few thrusts things started feeling really good. I discovered the curve at the end of the Lia Pleaser 1 hits the G-spot perfectly! When it wasn’t turned on, I was easily able to have a G-spot orgasm with this toy (New tag line? “Turn it off to turn you ON!” I’ll work on that . . . ).
I’ve used the Lia Pleaser 1 repeatedly over a 3 week period both by myself and with partners to make sure I explored it fully. My conclusion is, the Lia Pleaser 1 is an awful vibrator but a wonderful dildo. I wish it didn’t have the ability to vibrate at all because I find I don’t use that option. For me, the Lia Pleaser 1 is best used while inserted. I then either couple it with a second toy for clitoral stimulation or with a partner who is performing cunilingus.
Another selling point is it’s very inexpensive– you won’t feel like you’re getting ripped off if you buy this toy strictly to use as a non-vibrating dildo. It runs about $40 but I frequently see it on sale in the $29 neighborhood.
Watch the video above for more tips and tricks for the Lia Pleaser 1. Below is a handy pros and cons list for the toy also.
Lia Pleaser 1 Pros
- Wonderful G-spot curve
- Smaller/size of an average penis
- Nice variety of pulsing patterns
- Controls are simple to operate/not located when they get inadvertently hit
- Waterproof
- Inexpensive
- Made of silicone (Silicone is non-porous, hypoallergenic, non-toxic and feels wonderful!)
Lia Pleaser 1 Cons
- Incredibly loud
- Weak vibrations
- Not suitable for anal (no flared base)
- Need more than JUST this toy alone
- Battery operated (2 AA batteries)
- Not a go-to, every time type of toy. It’s nice to have in your collection for variety and for penetration/G-spot stimulation. If this were my only toy, I’d be disappointed.
