Gyration Sensations Gyrating Lover Sex Toy Review

Gyration Sensations ReviewThis month CalExotics sent me the Gyration Sensations Gyrating Lover vibrator to review.

You know, I think I’m becoming cynical.  The more I try different kinds of sex toys, the more it takes to pique my interest.  Unless it has a minimum of 8 fully functioning tentacles, makes me coffee or is controlled by mind power—ehhhh it just looks like another vibrator to me. Vibrator, schmibrator.  I’m up to my neck in sex toys.  My eyebrows don’t raise easily anymore.

How many reviews have I started off with “at first glance this thing didn’t look like anything special so I was prepared to hate it?”  Thank goodness I’ve learned not to judge a book by its cover and I haven’t completely let my cynicism get the best of me.

The Gyrating Lover 1 didn’t look like anything special when I first took a peek at it.  After using it, however, I was pleasantly surprised.

Now, don’t get me wrong–  it doesn’t have surprise hidden tentacles or anything like that.  In some respects it is exactly how it appears— a plain, no-frills, basic vibrator.   But what makes it kind of awesome is it’s a plain, no-frills, basic vibrator that really has some power behind it.  It’s also ridiculously inexpensive.

The Pros:

  • Deep, rumbly vibration (as opposed to buzzy)
  • Variable/incremental speeds- the power adjusts with the twist of the bottom like a dial
  • Strong enough to use as a clit vibrator (this is coming from a woman with a clit of steel)
  • Nicely sized for insertion— not too small but not too thick (1.25” diameter)
  • Waterproof
  • Inexpensive – MSRP $17.99 although I’ve seen it online in the $14-15 range
  • Unscented and phthalate free

 The Cons:

  • Takes C batteries which I don’t have a large supply of at home— I have to make a special trip to buy them
  • Does not make me coffee or read my mind

gyrating lover reviewThis is an excellent choice if you need something versatile, all purpose and inexpensive.  If you don’t have many toys or are on a shoestring budget, look into the Gyrating Lover 1.  For clit stimulation it is best suited for those who like a wider surface area covered (think along the lines of the head of a Hitachi style toy as opposed to the pin-pointed tickle of rabbit ears).

I normally hate the concept of a “beginner vibrator” because it reinforces the false notion that there are “starter genitals” and “more advanced genitals,” which is silly.  But I have to agree this would make a good first sex toy.  Not because fresh, new-to-toys genitals need something simple.  It would make a good starter toy because it’s versatile and inexpensive.  If you have no idea what type of sensation you’d like or whether you’d prefer an insertable or clitoral vibrator— this satisfies a number of different uses and preferences for under $20.  It allows you to experiment without breaking the bank. That’s a great deal!

My Final Word:

Check out the CalExotics Gyrating Sensations Gyrating Lover 1 if you are in the market for an all-purpose versatile sex toy on the cheap.

P.S.  Do not stick this toy in your butt!  All butt toys need to have a flared base or some other type of barrier to prevent them from getting lost in the dark recesses of your ass!  You don’t want your pelvic x-ray to appear in a coffee table book, do you?
