I have a very exciting announcement–I just edited my first book! I’ve done my fair share of editing in the past but for shorter pieces like blog posts or educational content on sexuality websites. This is my very first whole, entire book. I actually enjoyed the process more than I anticipated, however, what’s most important here is–this book is amazing (even before my editing, ha!).

I only recommend products and professionally associate myself with things/people that I stand behind. Before hopping aboard this editing project, I dove into the text to see if it aligned with my ethics and viewpoints. I immediately fell in love with Susanna Brisk’s refreshing, commonsense approach to dating. Her book is called How to get Laid Using Your Intuition.

What impressed me most upon first read-through was that it’s not as basic as the title seems at face value– but it’s still such a simple, rational approach to something that feels so complex. This book is a cut-the-bullshit, straight-shooting, practical guide to getting your sexual/romantic needs met. It also (this is the really important part) teaches you step-by-step how to ethically and consensually find the right people to help you with that.

Ethically and consensuallythose are crucial words. Especially now with #MeToo and #TimesUp– we can’t approach dating mindlessly on autopilot like we used to. We need a new game plan that is way less “game” and much more “plan.” We need to think about consent differently and not let shame and embarrassment keep us from living authentically and seeking what we truly crave. Susanna teaches readers how to find people that crave the exact same things who also eagerly want to explore with us.

Although tapping into our inner navigation system and letting intuition guide us is the key– clear communication and enthusiastic consent are paramount too. Most of us know on a cerebral level that consent is a must but many of us still don’t know how to seamlessly incorporate it into our real-life interactions. It can come off as awkward, clinical, or just plain ol’ “not hot”. How to Get Laid Using Your Intuition teaches you how to obtain and maintain verbal consent in a way that feels natural and keeps things sexy. In addition, Susanna’s methods apply to vanilla and kinky folks alike plus they are applicable in any sort of dating or hook-up situation. They also apply to people of any gender, sexual orientation, and relationship type.

Here is my back cover blurb about the book:

“Whether you’re looking to casually hook-up, find your soulmate, or anywhere in between, How to Get Laid Using Your Intuition is for you. Forget the tired gender stereotypes, dating rules, and pick-up-artist ‘techniques’–this practical, irreverent, and concise guidebook will help you tune in to your intuitive compass and navigate the clusterf**k of modern dating. Susanna has crafted a new language for relationships that revolutionizes the way we connect with others. You’ll be empowered to live more authentically, read people with deadly accuracy, and communicate like a badass to get exactly what you want in the bedroom–or on the kitchen counter, or in the dungeon–wherever you want to get it on.”

In other words, this book is amazing! And with what’s going on in the world it couldn’t be more perfectly timed. If you’ve wondered, “How do I approach flirting and dating in the age of #MeToo?” or simply wished you could find more compatible matches– give How To Get Laid Using Your Intuition a read.

Get How to Get Laid Using Your Intuition on Amazon.com (in paperback or on Kindle for $9.99). And if you do buy the book, drop me a note and let me know. Lastly, please leave a review on Amazon.com after you’re done reading it. We’d both appreciate that! Thanks!

Wow, this is definitely going on my reading list! We (our society/culture as a whole) really need a new approach to the “dating game”.
