Sexual consent seems simple. No means no, right? But what does consent look like in the context of various situations: on a date, with a significant other, with a spouse or during a BDSM scene? Is consent valid when given under the influence of alcohol or drugs? In real world situations the line between sexual consent and sexual coercion can easily become blurred.
In BDSM scenes, consent can be more difficult to define. Are safewords enough to determine and maintain consent? Can consent be revoked? Who is responsible for making sure consent is respected and everyone remains comfortable throughout the encounter? What are the advantages and pitfalls of BDSM contracts? On The Edge, presents “Chips and Whips” an introduction to single tail whips, buggy whips and fun with food.
WHIPS: This seminar/playtime event will feature instruction and care of your whip. Sounds like you’re ready for BDSM 201: Dungeons for Beginners! This is an in-depth hands-on intensive taught by Ken Melvoin-Berg and Sunny Megatron in a professional S&M Dungeon!
If you did not take our BDSM 101 class at Taboo Tabou, no fear! It is not required to attend. We will go over some of the basic techniques and terminology to get new folks up to speed.
In this BDSM workshop Ken and I will familiarize you with all the dungeon equipment including safety procedures, use and aftercare. We’ll play games involving all the BDSM furniture/equipment to acquaint you with their functions. We’ll also go over dungeon etiquette so you will know what to expect and how to behave at an S&M party.
Interactive instruction will be given on OTK (over the knee) spanking, electric play, paddles, floggers, single tail whips, basic rope bondage plus you’ll learn how to construct a BDSM scene from start to finish. These skills can be used in a dungeon setting or in the privacy of your own home.
A Q & A session and open play party will follow. Beginners, as you try out your own scenes there will be seasoned pros on hand to help you with technique and answer questions. One of us can stand along side you and assist you with your flogging technique, answer questions about protocol, etc.
Nudity is not expected or required for this event nor is fetish attire. The dress code is casual. Wear something you can move and be comfortable in. If you have some of your own tools (floggers, paddles, restraints, rope, etc) feel free to bring them along to use!

Instructor Biography and Background
Happy-Venom has been training in fighting techniques since childhood. He been boxing since age 6 (his father was a former pro boxer), wrestling since 8, started karate and kung-fu at 10, and then began training in his main instructor’s style of Japanese jujutsu, as well as the muay Thai, wing chun, Shotokan karate, aiki-jujutsu, and Japanese weapons by age 12.
In the more than three decades since then, he has studied many styles of martial arts, including savate, tae kwon do, catch wrestling, and jeet kune do to add to his knowledge of fighting and hand-to-hand combat.
Happy-Venom is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm and used to do crazy shit like fighting in cages, traveled to distant lands to shoot people and blow stuff up, and wrangled drunkards in biker bars.
