BDSM 201: Dungeons for Beginners @ The Studio (10 min SW of Downtown Chicago)
Jun 28 @ 1:00 AM – 7:00 AM

Perhaps you’ve read 50 Shades of Grey or you’ve attended a BDSM for Beginners course.  How do you put all you learned to good use?  Where do you get some no-pressure practice time in before you unleash your flogger on a willing partner? Or maybe you’re ready to seek out more like attend a dungeon party or S&M function but you’re still not quite comfortable.  What do you wear?  How do you act?  What exactly is expected of you at a BDSM party?

Sounds like you’re ready for BDSM 201: Dungeons for Beginners!   This is an in-depth hands-on intensive taught by Ken Melvoin-Berg and Sunny Megatron in a professional S&M Dungeon!

If you did not take our BDSM 101 class at Taboo Tabou, no fear!  It is not required to attend.  We will go over some of the basic techniques and terminology to get new folks up to speed.

In this BDSM workshop Ken and I will familiarize you with all the dungeon equipment including safety procedures, use and aftercare. We’ll play games involving all the BDSM furniture/equipment to acquaint you with their functions. We’ll also go over dungeon etiquette so you will know what to expect and how to behave at an S&M party.

Interactive instruction will be given on OTK (over the knee) spanking, electric play, paddles, floggers, single tail whips, basic rope bondage plus you’ll learn how to construct a BDSM scene from start to finish.  These skills can be used in a dungeon setting or in the privacy of your own home.

A Q & A session and open play party will follow.  Beginners, as you try out your own scenes there will be seasoned pros on hand to help you with technique and answer questions.  One of us can stand along side you and assist you with your flogging technique, answer questions about protocol, etc.

Nudity is not expected or required for this event nor is fetish attire.  The dress code is casual.  Wear something you can move and be comfortable in.  If you have some of your own tools (floggers, paddles, restraints, rope, etc) feel free to bring them along to use!

This intensive allows you to visit a dungeon without intimidation, pressure or feeling like you have a neon sign flashing “newbie” on your forehead.  It is a safe, casual environment where you’ll feel comfortable asking questions and receiving instruction.  This is the perfect event to bring a partner to but it is not necessary.  If you choose to get some play time in after the class, we can partner you up with someone.  Heck, I’ll even let some of you flog and paddle me!

BDSM 201 – Dungeons for Beginers will take place on Wednesday, 6/27/12 from 8pm to 2am. 8-9 pm is social hour with beverages and light snacks. Late comers are welcome, but class starts promptly at 9pm.  Open playtime will take place after midnight.

Those 18 years of age and up are welcome.  This is a clean and sober event– no drinking, drugs or smoking allowed. ID’s will be required at the door.

The fee for this class is a $20 donation (more if you can afford it).

RSVP via e-mail to [email protected] with the names of the attendees.  This event takes place at The Studio.  The Studio is Chicago’s premiere, upscale BDSM dungeon and embraces all gender identities, sexual orientations, fetish interests and activity levels.  It is approximately 10 min southwest of Downtown Chicago and not far from major expressways and public transportation. RSVPs will be replied to with the exact address of  The Studio 24 hours before the event.

Quick, Violent, and Dirty Self-Protection @ The Studio (10 min SW of Downtown Chicago)
Mar 21 @ 1:00 AM – 4:00 AM

self defense class chicagoDue to the recent events that have affected our community, many people are asking for a way to feel protected. The loss of Foxy Goat has crushed many of us and changed the way in which we think we are safe in our homes. All of the profit for this class is going as a donation in her name to assist the 1901 Gallery Theater.

Effective self-protection is by its nature quick, violent, and dirty. It is not about kicking someone’s ass, egos, or looking tough. The purpose of this class is to share knowledge about how to cause enough damage, swiftly, ruthlessly, and unexpectedly, so that a victim can escape from an attacker and protect themselves from any further harm. It isn’t pretty, elegant, sporting, or honorable.

While avoiding conflict and being in danger is always the best strategy, sometimes that is not a possibility. The Quick, Violent, and Dirty Self-Protection seminar is designed to teach students about how to prepare for imminent assault, how to use the body’s natural weapons, and when and how to employ highly effective force-multipliers to inflict debilitating damage on an attacker with the purpose of preserving one’s safety, well-being, and own life.

Quick, Violent, and Dirty Self-Protection is a two-hour intensive lecture and demonstration of a few specific techniques, methods, and courses of action that can be learned easily and practiced repeatedly until they become second-nature survival strategies.

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who had practiced one kick 10,000 times.”—Bruce Lee
