Ice and cold are not new. Technology and chemistry have given us some amazing advances in this realm. Ken Melvoin-Berg, our resident science geek and sexpert, will be teaching this edge play seminar.

We will be learning about the procurement, gear, safety issues and background of using liquid nitrogen (LN2), frozen carbon dioxide (dry ice) and frozen water (ice) play. This class will be a demo learning class only.

Disclaimer: Liquid nitrogen play is very extreme but is actually less dangerous than rope bondage.

We will be addressing the medical/aftercare side of all this play as well. Hypothermia, cold burns, lacerations and asphyxiation are all dangers in this sort of play. We will help you identify and treat these issues before they become a problem.

This event is at The Studio in Chicago, IL. All our events are clean and sober, the age limit is for people 18 and up. Please have IDs available at the door.

Due our extreme cost of obtaining the equipment and chemicals needed for the demo, we are charging $20 in advance or $30 at the door. No refunds will be given for advance payment.

About the Instructor:

Ken Melvoin-Berg owns Weird Chicago Tours and the Midwest’s premier S&M Dungeon, The Studio. As a Lecturer and Sexstorian, he is the creator of On The Edge (a lecture/film series on BDSM). In addition to authoring 14 books on various subjects, Ken edits and writes numerous articles on sexuality.

He travels around the world teaching kink awareness to various private groups and continually develops new kink-friendly/sex positive classes.

Ken is responsible for the infamous Northwestern University Fucksaw controversy while teaching his class, Networking for Kinky People. Sunny Megatron is his partner in crime in his perverted adventures.

This class is near and dear to my heart (pun intended). We will be taking a look at blades of all kinds and their use in BDSM. There will be a couple of lectures before play time. This event is clean and sober, no alcohol, drugs or smoking allowed. This event is open to anyone 18 years or older. IDs with proof of age will be required at door.

There will be a lecture by Happy-Venom, who is an expert on many subjects including knife combat, weapon choice, knife care, hygiene and safety.

Happy-Venom bio:
Happy-Venom has been kinky for most of his life, going back to when he used to tie up his female schoolmates like he was a cartoon villain, suspend them by ropes in barns, or dress them up in tack-and-saddle and smack them with riding crops in what was purely innocent fun. Sure it was. Happy-Venom likes has enjoyed hitting things since he was a kid. He has been boxing, wrestling, and practicing martial arts for more than 30 years, used to do crazy shit like fought in cages, traveled to distant lands to shoot people and blow stuff up, and wrangled drunkards in biker bars. Now he does more humanitarian activities like train fighters and security personnel on how to beat people up more efficiently. He has also been involved professionally in kink since learning there actually was such a thing, back in the late ‘80s in Europe. There, he got into teaching dominatrixes how not to kill people when choking them unconscious, as well as getting paid to beat people for fun. He’s done that off and on since then, in one way or another, and still occasionally dusts off his interrogation equipment for fun and profit.

We will also have a special “Dexter Room” for extra messy play during this event.

Play party to follow the demos/lecture. Have fun, play safe and you are welcome to bring your toys but remember that any knives over 3″ are NOT street legal.

On The Edge is offering “Give Me The Code,” an Intelligence Gathering Interrogation workshop with Ken Melvoin-Berg (@Kreamy) and Fetlife’s @Happy-Venom. These two gentlemen (well, always polite but not necessarily gentle!) are former Special Forces military folks (ok technically, Ken was only “elite,” not special) involved with interrogation or its aftercare.

Get ready to delve into extreme edge play, psychological play, pressure points, electric persuasion, water tortures and more!

Throughout the course of the evening Ken and Mr. Venom will address interrogation, confirmation and reward plus some of the extreme tactics the intelligence community uses to retrieve top secret information. They will also look at after effects including psychological aftercare, PTSD, Stockholm Syndrome, etc.

There will be much more information here than your typical BDSM Interrogation class– this is the real deal! To facilitate learning and bring together all of the elements discussed, they will conduct an intense live interrogation scene for the class.

Class will conclude with Q & A followed by open playtime at The Studio.

This event is 18 years of age and up, clean and sober. No drinking, drugs or smoking allowed in The Studio. It will take place on 6/30/12 from 9pm to 2am. Late comers are welcome, but we will be starting the class at 9:45pm sharp.

This class is a $20 donation (more if you can afford it).
