Lelo INA Wave Vibrator Review

Lelo INA Wave Sunny MegaatronIt is a universal truth that all rabbit style vibrators don’t fit every type of body. There’s a lot that goes into calculating the perfect rabbit vibrator fit — the distance of the clitoris to the vaginal opening (or the C-V distance if you want to sound fancy), the thickness of the pubic mound, and the location of the g-spot are just a few of the variables that affect proper fit.

Most traditional rabbit vibrator styles fit my body just fine. One of the few exceptions is the Lelo INA. Trying to get that thing to sit comfortably on my clit and rest inside me simultaneously is like attempting to stuff an evil step-sister’s foot into a glass slipper. No matter how hard I try it just isn’t happening.

The original INA (as you’ll see in my video review below) had a clitoral arm that sat very close to the insertable g-spot arm and wasn’t flexible enough. As a result, many reported it felt like an uncomfortable clamp chomping down (in a not sexy way) on their clitoris. Then there were a handful that liked the rough, clampy chomping (in a sexy way). Lastly, there were a good number lucky Cinderellas who said the INA fit them perfectly and they lived happily ever after.

In response to the large number of dissatisfied, chompy not-in-a-sexy-way step-sisters, Lelo came out with the INA 2 and discontinued the INA 1. This improved version had a more flexible clitoral arm situated further away from insertable arm. It also had 100% more power. This design change allowed for a better fit for more types of bodies and created quite a few more satisfied Cinderellas.

Enter Lelo’s third INA incarnation, the INA Wave. This sex toy has the added power and design improvements of the INA 2 plus an amazing new feature. The g-spot arm moves in a waving “come hither” motion for maximum g-spot pleasure. Sweet! When I learned I was getting one I was super excited to give it a spin.

I must interject a little background here– I have had the INA 1 for a few years and never tried the INA 2. I assumed with what I read about the design improvements, the INA 2 would remedy my fit issues. I also assumed since the INA 2 is the same body style as the Wave, that they both would fit me just fine.

WELL, IMAGINE MY SURPRISE TO FIND THE INA WAVE DIDN’T FIT MY BODY TYPE EITHER.

INA Wave Blue Purple Pink

INA Wave is available in blue, purple and pink

I have never had issues with rabbits fitting my anatomy so poorly. No matter how much I tried to get the Wave to sit on my clit and be inserted at the same time it just didn’t work. It smashed my clit just like the INA 1.

BUT  this is not the end of my story, simply a plot twist. I figured out a way to get a very happy ending.

When I first got my INA 1 I suffered through solo fuck session after solo fuck session trying to get the toy to fit like I thought a rabbit style vibe was supposed to fit. I smashed my clit to a pulp and nothing felt good. That is until I threw all that “supposed to” nonsense out of my head and really listened to what my body wanted.

I realized if I held it in a position that put the clit arm comfortably on my clit and the insertable portion on the outside of my vulva between my labia it felt good. The end of the g-spot arm penetrated the entrance of my vagina by just a sliver but it still felt really nice. I’m more of a clit girl who doesn’t always need penetration. Also, I sometimes find intense clit stim and intense g-spot action occurring simultaneously is too much stimulation at once. I usually like focus on one or the other rather than both, so this positioning was perfect!

When I received the INA Wave and discovered the ill fit, I went right to this alternate positioning and BINGO! When held stationary at my vaginal opening, the wave of the internal arm makes the clit arm rub back and forth!!!! OHMYLORD is this NIIIIIICE! Like, absolutely amazing, nicest nice ever kind of nice! It’s sort of a cunnilingus/”munching on my pussy” feeling. The power is INTENSE and the speed/pulsations combinations are a plenty. I demo it (on my hand) in this video so you can see exactly what I mean:

So it turns out even though the INA Wave didn’t fit me the way it’s “supposed to,” I find the work-around MUCH more pleasurable. It induces a feeling like no other clit vibe I’ve tried (and that’s a HUGE number) and the orgasms it gives me are very powerful. TOTAL WIN. The INA Wave and I will live happily ever after together afterall!

Be warned, the INA Wave is a luxury vibrator. It’s not cheap, however, I am. It hurts me to spend more than $60 on a sex toy. This is baby is $199. Although it’s hard for me to swallow– for me and my body type it’s worth it.

Mona Wave

INA Wave’s cousin the MONA Wave. It’s a g-spotting insertable with no clitoral arm.

One cool thing about Lelo products is they come with a 1 year warranty and a 10 year “quality guarantee,“ meaning if your toy breaks in the 1-10 year period you can “trade it in” for a new toy at 50% off. Not bad. And of course, this toy has all the Lelo perks– premium silicone, rechargeable, travel lock, storage bag, and it’s 100% waterproof.

So there you have it. If you don’t know if the INA 2 shape (which is the same as the INA Wave and both are currently on the market) fits your body type you likely have 2 possibilities– the INA Wave will fit as intended and “come hither” all over your g-spot OR you try the work-around for an intense and unique “munch on your pussy” feeling. The power on its highest setting is very strong and the pulsation options are very versatile. Depending on the fit it may not end up being your end all be all, go-to, stereotypical rabbit vibe. However, it might end up in heavy rotation on your bedside table because it feels so different. If either of these possibilities sound like something your body would like, it might be toy for you. If you’re looking for purely g-spot action, the MONA Wave might be more up your alley.
