It’s only been a couple of years since the medical industry decided participation in fetishism and sadomasochism was no longer considered a mental disorder. It’s no surprise there aren’t many long term and older studies about BDSM. Two things: had no idea fetishism was once diagnosed as a mental defect! I love the paragraph under improved mental health …all the things ones needs for the last section, healthy relationships. Dommes had lower cortisol levels after sessions? Where’s my whip o.O

I find that BDSM helps me stay sane, there’s just something about completely letting go that really de-stresses me. I’ve also got such a problem with thinking, BDSM helps me stay in the moment and focus on the sensations that are happening.

You know BDSM has gone mainstream when even Netflix starts to dwell in this “lifestyle”: Inside Bonding. I think 50 shades of grey was a game changer for a lot of folks. All of a sudden, it was cool to be under the control of a dominatrix. All you needed is that gorgeous Audi 3 couple with all the trimmings, whips and all… Be safe out there.
