BDSM 201 – Circuit Training in the Dungeon

Perhaps you’ve read 50 Shades of Grey or you’ve attended a BDSM for Beginners course.  How do you put all you learned to good use?  Where do you get some no-pressure practice time in before you unleash your flogger on a willing partner?  Trying out a new skill in the bedroom while attempting to remain cool, calm and sexy can sometimes be a tall order.  What if the rope tangles?  What if you get confused?  What if you start giggling because you have no idea what you’re doing?  Perhaps you’re ready to seek out more, like attend a dungeon party or S&M function but you’re still not quite comfortable.  What do you wear?  How do you act?  What exactly is expected of you at a BDSM party?

Sounds like you’re ready for BDSM 201: Circuit Training in the Dungeon!   This is an in-depth hands-on intensive taught by Ken Melvoin-Berg and Sunny Megatron in a professional S&M Dungeon!

If you did not take our BDSM 101 class, no fear!  It is not required to attend.  We’ll go over some of the basic terminology to get new folks up to speed.

In this BDSM workshop Ken and I will familiarize you with all the dungeon equipment including safety procedures, use and aftercare. We’ll acquaint you with all the BDSM furniture/equipment and also go over dungeon etiquette so you will know what to expect and how to behave if you want to attend an S&M party.

Interactive instruction will be given on OTK (over the knee) spanking, electric play, paddles, floggers, single tail whips, basic rope bondage techniques, ideas for sensory deprivation, etc. plus you’ll learn how to construct a BDSM scene from start to finish.  These skills can be used in a dungeon setting or in the privacy of your own home.

A circut training style, hands-on mini-training will follow the formal instruction.  We’ll have stations set up in all the above categories and you’ll have to opportunity to try out all of them at your leisure in a low pressure setting.   Beginners, as you learn how to use the equipment and try out your own scenes, there will be seasoned pros on hand to help you with technique and answer questions.  One of us can stand along side you and assist with your flogging technique, answer questions about protocol, etc.  You’ll also get to try out everything from both sides of the coin– you’ll get to play the part of submissive and dominant.

No one is expecting you to be sexy– wear yoga pants and pony-tails!  We’ll be laughing, giggling and making all of our mistakes here so by the time you hit the bedroom or the dungeon you’ll feel like an old pro!

Nudity is not expected or required for this event nor is fetish attire.  The dress code is ultra casual.  Wear something you can move and be comfortable in.  If you have some of your own tools (floggers, paddles, restraints, rope, etc) feel free to bring them along to use!

This intensive allows you to visit a dungeon without intimidation, pressure or feeling like you have a neon sign flashing “newbie” on your forehead.  It is a safe, casual environment where you’ll feel comfortable asking questions and receiving instruction.  This is the perfect event to bring a partner or friend to but it is not necessary.

About the Instructors:

Ken Melvoin-Berg owns Weird Chicago Tours and the Midwest’s premier S&M Dungeon, The Studio. As a Lecturer and Sexstorian, he is the creator of On The Edge (a lecture/film series on BDSM). In addition to authoring 14 books on various subjects, Ken edits and writes numerous articles on sexuality.
